Auf Wachstumskurs: POLYRACK erweitert Kapazitäten
POLYRACK setzt neue Meilensteine für ein dynamisches Wachstum: Nach der Erweiterung von Werk 4 in Ettlingen auf eine Produktionsfläche von 35.000 m2 und dem Anwachsen der Gesamtmitarbeiterzahl auf über 500, folgen weitere Maßnahmen mit einer Investitionshöhe von 15 Millionen Euro. Damit arbeitet das Unternehmen auf ein Umsatzziel von 100 Millionen Euro in den nächsten zwei bis drei Jahren hin. POLYRACK zählt international zu den Marktführern für Electronic Packaging und fertigt in den Werken in Deutschland, Belgien und USA Systemlösungen verschiedener Ausbaustufen. Zielmärkte für die Elektronik-Komplettsysteme und Gehäuselösungen sind dabei unter anderem die Marktsegmente E-Mobilität, Medizintechnik, nachhaltige Energiegewinnung sowie Telekommunikation.
Um sein Umsatzziel zu erreichen setzt POLYRACK auf den Ausbau der eigenen Infrastruktur. Das beinhaltet primär den Bau eines neuen Logistikzentrums am Standort Straubenhardt. Bis Ende 2023 entsteht hier ein 2.000 m2 großes, halbautomatisiertes Hochregallager für 2.200 Europaletten. Dieses Zentrum wird zum Drehkreuz der Fertigware aller Produktionsstandorte. „Für die kommenden Jahre zeichnen sich signifikante Wachstumssprünge an, die wir durch die bei uns üblichen Projektlaufzeiten und den hohen Auftragsbestand schon recht klar sehen können“, so Andreas Rapp, Gesellschafter und Geschäftsführer der POLYRACK TECH-GROUP in zweiter Generation.
Das betrifft auch die Präsenz in den USA für den nordamerikanischen Markt – hier setzt das Unternehmen seine globale Expansion fort und investiert in das Werk am Standort Cumberland (Rhode Island): Das bestehende Firmengebäude wächst um 1.000 m2 an und umfasst dann 3.000 m2 für Montage, Logistik und Büroflächen. „Auf dem US-amerikanischen Markt erwarten wir einen Umsatzanstieg von 300 Prozent in den nächsten zwei Jahren. Die Investition von 1,5 Millionen US-Dollar ist dabei entscheidend für das Wachstum auf diesem Zukunftsmarkt.“
Standortattraktivität im Enzkreis weiter steigern
Zusätzlich entsteht in Straubenhardt, nahe dem Werk 2, der POLYRACK TOWER, ein Herzensprojekt der Unternehmerfamilie. Neben dem Namensgeber selbst sollen ab Mitte 2024 Unternehmen, Dienstleister und Ärzte aus der Region in dem Energie Plus-Haus sesshaft werden. Das in Holz-Hybrid-Bauweise geplante Gebäude zeigt, dass sich der Begriff „Industrieunternehmen“ und die Eigenschaften „ökologisch nachhaltig“ sinnvoll ergänzen können. Die neu gebauten Gebäude ermöglichen es außerdem die eigene Energieproduktion zu steigern: Die integrierten Photovoltaik-Anlagen generieren bis zu 400 Kwh Strom für die Produktionsstätten.
On course for growth: POLYRACK expands capacities
POLYRACK sets new milestones for dynamic growth: After the expansion of Plant 4 in Ettlingen to a production area of 35,000 m2 and the growth of the total number of employees to over 500, further measures with an investment amount of 15 million euros follow. The company is thus working towards a turnover target of 100 million euros in the next two to three years. POLYRACK is one of the international market leaders for electronic packaging and manufactures system solutions of various levels of sophistication in its plants in Germany, Belgium and the USA. Target markets for complete electronic systems and case solutions include the e-mobility, medical technology, sustainable energy generation and telecommunications market segments.
In order to achieve its sales target, POLYRACK is focusing on expanding its own infrastructure. This primarily includes the construction of a new logistics centre at the Straubenhardt site. By the end of 2023, a 2,000 m2 semi-automated high-bay warehouse for 2200 euro pallets will be built here. This centre will become the hub of finished goods for all production sites. "Significant leaps in growth are on the horizon for the coming years, which we can already see quite clearly due to our usual project runtimes and high order backlog," says Andreas Rapp, shareholder and managing director of POLYRACK TECH-GROUP in its second generation.
This also concerns the presence in the USA for the North American market - here the company continues its global expansion and invests in the plant at the Cumberland (Rhode Island) location: The existing company building is growing by 1,000 m2 and will then comprise 3,000 m2 for assembly, logistics and office space. "In the US market, we expect sales to increase by 300 % in the next two years. The investment of 1.5 million US dollars is crucial for growth in this future market."

In addition, the POLYRACK TOWER, a project close to the heart of the entrepreneurial family, is being built in Straubenhardt, near Plant 2. In addition to the name giver himself, companies, service providers and doctors from the region are to settle in the energy-plus building from mid-2024. The building, which is planned as a timber hybrid construction, shows that the term "industrial enterprise" and the characteristics "ecologically sustainable" can complement each other in a meaningful way. The newly constructed buildings also make it possible to increase the company's own energy production: the integrated photovoltaic systems generate up to 400 Kwh of electricity for the production facilities.
