Straubenhardt. The shake-proof FerroRAIL subrack from POLYRACK is aimed primarily at demanding applications in rail vehicles, or rather for use in the French railway SNCF (Société nationale des chemins de fer français). With the type approval which is now available, users with other harsh application areas can also be sure that they will receive an all-round stable, reliable and at the same time pleasing adaption for their standardised 19” assemblies.

FerroRAIL is based on the well-proven subrack family Future from POLYRACK TECH-GROUP. In the version for rail-bound transport with its stress of shaking, bumping and vibration, the profiles are as a matter of principle double-bolted to the side panels. In the type-approved version, FerroRAIL is available in full 19” width with a depth of 320 mm in 3 U and 6 U. It differs from the standard Future design primarily by the lateral slide rails which are provided as standard and by a special cover in the rear area – both specifications being required by the application .
The type approval for the SNCF is based on the French AFNOR-Standards NF F60-002, NF F61-012 and F61-005. FerroRAIL was tested with test weights in accordance with the test specifications NF EN 50155, NF EN 61373, NF F 67-012 and NF F 60-002.
The extensive conversion and accessory programme is identical with that of the Future subrack family: cover plates, protective hoods, mounting brackets, Z-rails, perforated rails, threaded inserts, isolating strips, card guides, ESD clips, coding blocks and pins and much more besides. The shielding concept for high EMC is basically available in two versions (metal clips or conductive gaskets).
