RAPP Plastics Technology, a company of the POLYRACK TECH-GROUP specializing in plastics, has invested in expanding its capabilities. The company has added a new 13,000kN (1300T) injection molding machine to its present portfolio of equipment and services for manufacturing plastic parts which weigh up to approximately 6,000g (13lbs).
The new 13,000kN-injection molding machine, which corresponds with a performance category of 1300T, is located at the factory in Ettlingen near Karlsruhe and enables RAPP Plastics to manufacture parts with sizes up to one meter (39in.) and weights per part up to 6kg (13lbs). This investment offers new possibilities for all customers of the POLYRACK TECH-GROUP to broaden their product offering and to adjust accordingly to the steadily increasing demands of the market. Beginning with design, prototyping and tooling, the POLYRACK TECH-GROUP offers comprehensive manufacturing capabilities for thermoplastic parts, such as compact injection molding, thermoplastic injection molding and multi-component technology.
In addition, RAPP Plastics Technology has invested in a new overhead crane system, which is designed to move loads up to 10T and will be used to handle the heavy and easily damaged injection molding tools properly. Also, in order to process granulated plastics reliably, RAPP Plastics has integrated a drying system directly to the machines, which automatically feeds granulated plastics into the manufacturing processes.
In selecting the new injection molding machine, including all peripheral equipment, POLYRACK focused on environmental and energy aspects. In order to achieve and ensure energy-efficient manufacturing processes, the energy consumption data is constantly monitored.
